Well, I’ve been on this journey for about 6 weeks.
I’ve lost 8 pounds.
I bought a Wii, the dance mat and the Walk It Out Game. Today I did 334 steps. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you consider how sedentary I’ve been for the last few years you’ll know how far I’ve come.
Remember, tomorrow is Friday and Saturday is the UT game. Have a great week-end.

Well, I’ve been on this journey for a few days now. It is not as hard as I expected.
The hardest part is waiting 30 minutes after eating to drink my diet lemonade. I’m a sipper, not a gulper. I tend to drink all day long. Even drinking the 64 oz. a day is not too much problem.
I want to thank all the folks who have offered me encouragement and support.
For those of those who’ve asked, yes, I really want to do this. This isn’t my first time checking into the procedures. I got as far as the office consultation about 2 to 3 years ago. At that time I wasn’t sure I could do the follow up diet. Now, I am.
I know it won’t be easy, but I’m heavier now than I was then. My overall health is worse than then. I want to improve the quality of my life as well as maybe living longer.
Thank you Kathryn Falk for the following:
I AM LOSING WEIGHT.
I AM STAYING ON 1200 CALORIE DIET.
I AM HEALTHY
I AM BEAUTIFUL

Yesterday I met with Dr. Stephen Boyce about my weight loss surgery. After much discussion we decided to do the sleeve.
So, today I started my 1200 calorie a day diet.
THIS WILL BE HARD!!!!!!
This is what I have to do:
1: begin vitamins
2. drink 64 oz of fluids that are sugar-free, caffeine free and calorie free.
3. decrease caffeine and carbonation
4. no drinking 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after a meal or snack.
5. plan meals and snacks that have no more than 1200 calories a day.
I have to do this for 6 months before I can have the surgery. I expect to have some days that are spectacular failures.
I will need all the encouragement and prayers I can get.

Do you know why churches have Wednesday night services?
This practice started during the recent unpleasantness with our northern neighbors or as the history books like to call it, The Civil War.
Those left at home needed contact with other in the same situation and they decided to get together in the middle of the week to have a prayer service for all the menfolk off fighting in the warah (war to those of outside the south).
So, does your church still have a Wednesday night prayer service?

One Good Earl Deserves A Lover
The Lass Wore Black
All of them were reading. Beverly Jenkins book was exceptional.
I’m giving away a copy of this book. Please, leave a comment to be in the drawing. The winner will be drawn on Friday at noon.
The Lass Wore Black was a dark story.
One Good Earl was a fun read.
I’m sorry these reviews aren’t full reviews. I’m in my 3rd week of illness, and had more tests today. I hope to be back to my normal self soon.

Food Safety Recall: Giant Food Stores advises its customers that The Campbell Soup Company has recalled Campbells Oyster Stew Soup, Condensed (10.5-oz cans; UPC 5100003087), based on FDA’s findings of insanitary conditions of shellfish areas in Korea. http://efoodalert.net/2012/06/06/recalls-and-alerts-june-6-2012/
Out of 900 applicants I’ve been picked to be an Avon Addict. It not the make-up and perfume company, but the book publisher.
Each month I’ll get books to review and swag.
I plan to distribute books. If there is more than one copy I’ll save one to be added to an Avon bag to be donated to the Brenda Novak annual diabetes auction next May. http://brendanovak.auctionanything.com/
I have thoroughly enjoyed my first batch of books. I still have 3 to read.
by Christine Feehan
This is the latest installment in her Dark series.
Riordan our hunky hero is trapped inside a volcano with a very old and wicked vampire. They have been there for 500 years.
Juliette our beautiful and gutsy heroine has an affinity with the volcano that goes back generations. She doesn’t understand why she has to get to the top of the volcano before it erupts but is determined to get there.
The first half of the book is intense, dark and brooding. The second half is action, adventure and romance.
We do get some answers to the ongoing Carpathian problems.
If you are a fan of these books I recommend you read this one. If you are new to the series read them in order or you will get confused.
I give it a 4 out of 5 stars.
Look for more reviews coming soon.

Grocery shopping is not one of my favorite activities. However, it must be done.
On Saturday Brent and I went to the local Wal-Mart. We got to the soup section and they were out of Oyster Stew. I said, “No problem. I’ll get it at Ingle’s.”
Fast forward to today. Ingle’s had two cans; of which I’m not the proud owner.
So, either Campbell’s isn’t producing enough Oyster Stew or there is an oyster shortage.
I don’t think that many people in my little community eat Campbell’s Oyster Stew to have created this shortage. After all we live in the mountains of east TN.
So, let me know how your local stores are doing on stocking oyster stew.
